In reading Erica Kennedy’s Feminista, I found this passage to be a hilariously interesting take on marriage:
“And now that the marriage had become a political issue, with conservatives embracing it as theirs alone, it seemed so uncool, so Elisabeth Hassel-bitch. At the same time, oddly, the media’s obsession with celebrity weddings (and subsequently quickie divorces) made marriage seem overly trendy, like a soon-to-be-out-of-date fad you’d one day be embarrassed you’d fallen for.”
